Goin’ to the chapel

Coming over a rise near Planktinton, S.D., we spot a tiny white chapel. It’s about six feet wide and maybe twice that in length. We park at a nearby rest area and walk across the field to it.

From a distance, it had looked like a church for dolls and teddy bears. Up close, it looks like a church for slightly larger dolls and teddy bears. The quiet haven for travellers has two rows of four pews and a pulpit where Kendra finds a Bible.

Trevor settles into a pew and she gives a short sermon off the top of her head.
